I think I'm out of my depth on this one. It's a Tablet PC that has WinXPembedded. There is no HD.I "Googled" for the specs and found there are several sizes for the main memory(512MB to 4GB)I guess the OS is stored in some form of "Flash Memory".I have the XPembedded OS disk, but I'm not sure how to go about reloading the OS.
Do I make a "Ghost" image from another(working)Atigo T?Then transfer the image to the "Flash Memory"?Could I boot from a CD and treat the "Flash Memory" like it was a HD(or CF Card Drive?).
The Bios does allow for CD Booting, that's how I cleared the passwords.
I'm unsure about how to go with this.I hesitate because I don't want to kill this PC.
What's everyone's considered opinion?
Thanks!

I'm not that familiar with that unit specifically but I think you have what you need to answer most of your questions? If you boot from the CD it came with can you write to save a file to it's drive (the CF)? If so then you could probably boot a linux disto and dd the drive to a backup file over the network (a windows or nfs share maybe)? Then you could restore it as need-be.

I imagine you're wanting to put Linux on it or something but want a way out if it breaks?

I was going to start by restoring it to a version of XPembeded. The disk I have was not made specifically for the Tablet. It's generic.
Linux is in the future, but since I more or less understand Windows, that's where I should start.
I tried to Google the Part Number(8D.40046.36A,T\N TB840,M/N AP-FM5124LAB-NJ) to figure out it's specs but couldn't find anything. The module is made by Apacer.Their site was no help either.
I can see 4 memory chips and one small square chip. It's all on a small card with a 44 pin female connection. Is there a way to "Read" the memory chips to figure out the size?
Thanks!

We used to use these units at my work. All of the units we used to service had a flash drive of 512 (AP-FM5124LAB-NJ). As far as imaging, we created a Ghost image from a "staged" unit and Ghosted it to all the others. Ghost sees the flash drive just like a harddrive. These really are nice units, I was able to snag a couple before they decided to throw them out, they are great for quick surfing. If you need more storage you can always insert a compact flash card on the top. I imagine I will put linux on one of them sooner or later, but for now I am happy with Windows. If you need any more info (or an image) just let me know.

Yay!Were you using XPembedded?Which Model a T or S or M?I have tried to do installs using some very small XP builds and they seem to work pretty well.Everything except the Pen.Pens seem to be my bane. The only time I got it to work was on a Portugese version of XP Lite.(Another adventure)
I'd really like a ghosted image of what you have.I'd be happy to share one of mine ,assuming I figure out how to get the Pen to work.(I have the PenMount drivers, but something isn't right.)
