Hi:

I looking for the wireless adapter with the most sensitive receiver and most powerful transmitter. Which one should I buy?

Thanks,

For what operating system? The D-Link WDA-2320 is a good choice for range, the price is reasonable, and it works with Linux.

What is the application? Perhaps you don't want an internal card. Having the antenna at the back of a box is not the ideal place. Putting an extension on the antenna is a tradeoff and may not gain you much because of the cable loss at those frequencies. For some situations a USB connected unit could be better because you can get better placement. With those you can even put them in front of a reflector to get huge range.

I would like to buy a wireless adapter which I plan to use with a laptop. I would like a wireless adapter with the longest range possible. This means an adapter with the highest gain antenna and most sensitive receiver.

There are many open wireless access points in which anyone can use the internet through. Coffee shops and shoppings malls have such access points. That way if I visit a mall or park outside a cafe, I can use the internet.

My Linksys WUSB54GC (iirc) is a great little adapter, USB, can be put up on a stick for great range (depending on the USB cable) and has a great feature-- auto configure. I love mine.
