Hello again, i could not find a forum for this wonderful software anywhere so i thought i would start here. The question is simple. the browser makes it very easy in install packages, but how on earth do you get rid of them?

Basically i installed one audio player add on, that worked, and then installed another player on top of it that was supposed to support mp3 files in addition to WAVs, however the upgraded player apparently will not work with my system, but i seemingly cannot open audio files with the old player. So i think i need to uninstall the new one somehow. Does anyone know how you go about doing this?

thanks.

I see there is a lot of discussion on the old Arachne list about how to implement it. Perhaps that never got done. I don't use APMs myself so haven't had to deal with it. My guess would be to delete the whole program and then add the APMs you want after reinstalling. You should probably save the mime.cfg file or something first though. :) good luck.

so, you don't know how to do it, or the program is actually designed so it is completely impossible? o_O

I don't see any resolution on the list, but then there are some newer versions out since those days. I looked at Glenn Mc Corkle's site. He seems to be the one in touch with the code these days. Michael Polak (sp?) is pretty much out of the picture. I looked at his site too.

So yes, like I said, I don't know how to do it and it looks like there is no simple way built in. It's a small program so why not just delete it and start over?

yeah, i guess that is the only way. Setting up the program back with all of my settings will take a while though.

Hmm, perhaps if you back up all the .cfg files and then put them back one at a time to see which ones will be OK. Arachne is pretty modular.

I'm still hoping that someone else here knows something about Arachne and can speak to the topic in a more intelligent way than I can. :)
