Here in the USA it's out mid-summer holiday, a day to fly the flags and celebrate our nation's origins and the dedication, wisdom, and courage of our country's founders.

So what sort of 4th of July celebrations are going on in your hometowns today?

Here in Raton, New Mexico this weekend is our annual hot air Balloon Festival. About 13 balloon crews made it this year, and the past two mornings the weather has been perfect. Last night was a pig roast with friends, followed by watching some fights on television. This evening is our small-town parade, and tonight is a large fireworks display.

Thought it would be neat to start this topic, get folks to post photos and stories of their 4th of July traditions, to share with our non-American members.

The kids and I are at my parent's house at the New Jersey shore. Barbecue, time at the beach, and some fireworks are the main ingreadients of our celebration here.

There is a tiny bit of vintage computing involved, as I always end up chatting with my father and showing him pictures of whatever projects I've been working on. I may fire up my father's SBC6120 for a few minutes later on...

Happy Fourth from Cape May, NJ
