Greetings,
Yesterday I got a lot of old hardware that I still have to test and catalog. But I got across this cable and I have no clue on what is it for.

It is a IEEE 802.3 10 Base T Ethernet cable. It has a label that says Cabletron 9372065. On one end, it has a 9 pin RS232 adapter.

Any hint will be appreciated.
Cheers

Lots of networking equipment used an RJ-45 connector instead of a serial connector. I'm sure someone smart out there knows why other than to look proprietary. Anyway, you just connect the rj45 to that serial converter, plug it into a regular 9-pin serial card and run your favorite terminal program and then you end up with a console into the firmware on the device. Pretty common with Cisco gear.
