Thanks to the many friends I have made here in VCF, I now have my first IBM 5150 computer not only looking great, but operating just as well as it looks. In other words; it's what a couple of people who have seen it refer to as "in museum quality". Along the way, I know I have upset a few people, and I apologize deeply for that. I was, and still am pretty new when it comes to forum useage. (This is the very first forum group I have ever joined) But thanks to all of you, I have even rebuilt another 5150 which I gave to my best friend. It's also working great! His isn't in quite as good condition as mine, (His only has one floppy drive and missing the cover plate for the empty drive bay) but I did learn a lot by looking at it from a perspective.

So now, I am going to bo back to a request I made a while back. I want to complete my IBM display by obtaining the original boxed bindered manuals that came with a new IBM Personal Computer. I do have all of them that are availlable in PDF form, and those are a great resource, but I still want to get the original hard copies too. I currently have the 5150 PC Guide to Operations, and an original version of the BASIC manual. I would like to obtain two more if at all possible. The first is a IBM PC-DOS 3.0 manual, and the other one I want is the 5150 Personal Computer Technical Reference Guide. Not that it matters much, but these will complete my IBM 5150 set up that also includes a tape recorder and cassette interface cable, IBM 5152 branded Graphics Printer, 5153 CGA monitor, original keyboard and of course the 5150 computer all on it's own small rolling desk. I may have to post some pics to show it off a bit.

I almost had the tech ref through E-Bay this last week, but didn't have enough in the bank to bid any higher than what I did and lost out. Such is the life on E-Bay. I am also watching for the DOS 3.0 manual with or without the original 5.25" floppy disks. Of course, having the original disks would be a plus, but not a deal breaker if they are not present.

Now that funding is coming back together, I want to try again, but thought I would try here first. So, if anyone here has a copy of either the Personal Coomputer Technical Reference and/or the original DOS 3.0 to 3.3 boxed manuals and are willing to sell them at a reasonable price, please contact me.
