  • From now on we will require that a prefix is set for any items in the sales area. We have created regions and locations for this. We also require that you select a delivery option before posting your listing. This will hopefully help us streamline the things that get listed for sales here and help local people better advertise their items, especially for local only sales. New sales rules are also coming, so stay tuned.

Amstard PCW 8256

If someone needs software and has disks, I can make copies of the OS and application disks. It runs CP/M 3, btw.

The 8256 (Joyce) takes the CF2 3" floppies, unless it's been retrofitted. BTW, it's possible to fit these with 720K 3.5" floppy drives and slightly modify the boot record to get them to boot up in 720K mode. You do need a "READY' signal from the drive, or at least tie controller line low, as the system depends on this signal.

Definitely not $150. I picked mine up with all of the OS disks, printer and spare CF2 disks for $25 from Bill Degnan. They're a little uncommon over here, but extremely common in the UK - there are a number of retailers over there keeping people in floppy drive belts and printer ribbons.

Speaking of drive belts, if yours hasn't been replaced, it will probably need to be. The belts are pretty cheap, but you need to disassemble the computer and drive to install it.
