Computer number 31 in the collection.

Custom 486 DX 33 / 8meg RAM, monochrome monitor, 5 1/4" and 3.5" floppy drives.

(the F5 key is missing on the keyboard)

It's a random custom brand, the badge says "Aπ" (pi)

Originally listed on Craigslist by an old man in his late 70s. He listed it as a 386, but I was surprised to see it was a 486 DX with 8 mb ram.

Here's the rest of my collection: http://www.flickr.com/photos/70370335@N07/sets/72157628970398123/

Cheers!

It does indeed have a turbo button and led display.

The big metal AT click keyboard is great, I just have to find an old F5 key to replace the missing one.

The best is the mini orange monochrome monitor!

Really brings me way way back.

I have police quest 1 installed on it, but I want to get a CGA card and monitor to play it in its full glory. :)

I have a few old 386/486 with turbo buttons and LED displays they are cool.

Why did you paint that G3 orange?

What does the jumper block look like? I have a wiring schematic for the ones I use so I can set them to anything (3 digits first being a 1).

Cool machine! I wish I could find a case like that (or two!)...

The Turbo button and the display brings back memories of me and a friend playing Civilization in his computer :D

Very interesting computer, love these machines that used to be old but now are old and interesting. They don't make hardware like that anymore.

I totally agree with this.

the best part was, i bought this from a guy that was like 90, using a cane and couldnt even see out of one eye.

he told me about when they had first bought it and his daughters were still living at home and it caused "quite a stir!"

he had advertised it as a 386, but once i got it home and opened it, definitely a 486.

its an AT style keyboard, 8 meg ram, 2 hard drives (!), 5.25" and 3.5" floppies. monochrome card (i think) with a samsung amber monitor.

this may be the machine i put linux on and then host circlemud on.

I have a "spare" full-size AT tower with 5¼" hard & floppy bays - that has the LED speed display on it. There are no 3½ bays on it. Needs rails for the drive bays though, I think, but I'm not certain.

The thing is monstrously huge, solid steel. Has a 200-watt enormous power supply in it too, but I haven't tested to see if that worked though.
