Future Domain TMC-840 BIOS Image

Use WD8003W

Use WD8003W

Ok.... I have a WD8003W with a Boot Rom socket. I am also using a Future Domain TM840 to load my SCSI drives.

Now, I can boot from a floppy disk. I can also boot from a floppy disk and load network drivers onto the SCSI drive and then load those.

So, think about this, how could I use the boot rom in the network card to load the SCSI drivers and then execute the network drivers from the hard drive.

Walk me through it, or point me in a good direction. I can burn eproms, I have a Batronix Bagero BX40. I have all kinds of EPROMS, 27C256, 27C080, 27C512, and I can get more.

Does the network card just default to loading the boot rom? Meaning, if I put any code in there will it just execute? Do I have to compile with a starting address? Is there a requirement for some boot code? Like, could I use it to load a game, if the game were less than 64k? Could I load a PC Jr game on it and have it run?

Ok, if I could do that, then how do I get it to load the drivers? Can you just load DOS - I only have 64k? I could just boot to the network, that would be a good start? Any ideas for this path of attack?
