Hi all,

Firstly, apologies if this is in the wrong place, I'm new here :)

Secondly, I've been having trouble finding drivers for a Packard Bell machine which I received from my friend a year or so ago.

All the specs and serial numbers I have found are here:

CPU: AMD Athlon 1000MHz, MMX, 3DNow
RAM: 256Mb
HDD: 13.9Gb
GPU: Nvidia Riva TNT Model 64
Sound: Integrated chips

Other Information Obtained through System Information:
Serial num: R355100007 (found on back panel)
Bios: American Mega trends? - I think this is correct
Manufacturer: VIA
Model: MS-6340

I also have a picture of what the tower looks like, in case anyone has or had something similar: http://www.lolzilla.net/images/86575293799507314219.jpg
And a picture of some more serial numbers which were on the bottom of the tower: http://www.lolzilla.net/images/66363661213943383453.jpg

It currently has Windows 98 Second Edition on it, but did previously have Windows 2000 (from which I downgraded)

Thanks in advance for any help!

Wow, that's quite a high spec Packard Bell. I would have assumed you were in the UK where Packard Bell still operates, but if the case has that face icon, maybe it is a US model.
If it is a US model, it probably was made right before Packard Bell pulled out of the US market. In that case, the drivers may prove difficult to find. What driver(s) do you need? You may be better off finding them by looking up the manufacturer of the hardware and model number.

Thank you very much for the replies :)

Unfortunately, I do not know a whole lot about this machine at the present, which is why I'm trying to build up some knowledge.

I'll have a look through the archive that geneb linked and see if anything useful comes up.
