Does anyone have any interest in Apex / Avocent EL-40DT (4-port) EL-80DT (8-port) PS/2 VGA KVM switches? These are 17-inch wide boxes that weigh around 10 pounds each and have standard PS/2 keyboard and mouse and VGA input and output ports.

Full details in the manual available here:
ftp://ftp.avocent.com/public/product-upgrades/Outlook/EL40-80DT/OL_DT_UG.pdf

The units I have are firmware version 1.9.0. If anyone happens to have an EL-40DT or EL-80DT with firmware version 2.0.3 I wouldn't mind getting a copy of that firmware image so I could update the units I have.

These don't seem to sell for much on eBay. Cover shipping costs from the Seattle area (98052) and you can have one or more. I currently have two 4-port and two 8-port units, plus some cable sets too.

Are these designed to rack mount? If so, I know of a non-profit in FL that might have an interest in the 8 port units.

Ah, I skimmed through the PDF, but didn't get that far down in the manual. Mea culpa. I shot an email off to the IT guy down there and will let you know if he is interested.

Looks like all their servers are now using USB instead of PS/2 for keyboard and mouse, so unfortunately, these won't work for them. :(

PS/2 keyboard and mouse support instead of USB support make these KVMs somewhat vintage. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be enough demand for these to justify the cost of shipping. I'll probably end up taking them to the local RE-PC store. Not worth the effort to try to sell or give them away on Craigslist.
