Sun hardware

I collect old computers and turn them to e-scrap. That is, unless I find something that looks to be a lot more valuable than scrap.

The other day I was given some Sun hardware which I don't want to scrap unless I don't find a better venue for them.

here's what I have:

• two Sun SparcStation5 X 2
• Sun Ultra1
• Sun tape PN 599-2107-01 DDS3
• Exabyte EXB-8205ST, 8505ST

Now, I was told that these units were functional but I have not tested them yet, and not sure to what extent I can test them. They came without any cables or peripheral devices, so while I can find a power cord to fire them up, I am not sure how much farther I can get. I realize that this description does not make this stash very attractive, but I still would like to gauge whether people might have interest in them. Maybe I can answer some specific questions if there is some initial interest.

I am trying to get rich off of these but if I sell them I do want to cover shipping + some $ to make it better than high-grade e-scrap.

I suspect that like many boxes of this Vinatage you will either need to hang on to them for a few years, or they will become e-scrap. The SS-5s seem to be fetching about $50 on e-bay at present. TheUltra-1's a similar amount. Get on there yourself and search for competred listings. But thats for tested and working. Buying a keyboard, mouse and display adaptor will probaly cost more. You should also say where in the world you are as some one near may be prepared to pick up.
