Just curious because I need to free up an expansion slot in my 5160 was there ever a floppy controller/RAM expansion with 384k or memory on it? I don't need any serial, parallel, or game ports I already have those taken care of.

No I have one serial/parallel card a game card and a async card that I am going to put in slot 8 if it ever gets here in the mail... I just need to free up one slot for a Hayes smart modem. Then I am done upgrading except for getting an XT-IDE. I might replace the game port with a sound blaster but that's not likely...

Here is what I have in my system thus far
Slot 1: IBM 360k floppy controller
Slot 2: 3com etherlink III
Slot 3: IBM Analog input card (game card)
Slot 4: Paradise EGA card
Slot 5: 384k ram expansion
Slot 6: WDXT-GEN MFM controller
Slot 7: IBM serial/parallel card
Slot 8: IBM asynchronous communications card

Well, I forgot about the mod you can do the the motherboard to go from 64-256k to 256-640k on the xt there is an open chip socket albled u84 and there is a jumper to be added I don't rember exactly how to do it but this seems like a good solution for me

The more common way to free up slots in a machine like that is to use a multi IO card that has a floppy controller, 2 serial ports, parallel port, game port, and clock all on one card.

But it looks cooler when it is stuffed full of cards :D

Slot 5: AST SixPakPlus (Joy / Parallel / Serial / 384K / Real Time Clock)
Slot 6: WDXT-GEN MFM controller

Then you'll have lots of free slots :)

I agree it looks WAY cooler stuffed full of cards, especially if they are ALL full length cards! But I just need to free up one slot and I will have my dream machine with all 8 slots filled! So no multi I/O cards for me...
