TRS-80 Color disk controller on Ebay

Hi there,
I have just found this forum, and I think I will be visiting very often.

I woud like to post a question right now... I have got one of these coco controllers on ebay:

It does not come up with case, just the board.

Someone here know this controller? I bought it hoping that it will actually work, and allow me to connect a floppy drive to one of my computers (the Coco 1 at least, but with some adaptation, maybe the Coco 2 and 3 ?)

That's the original controller, it needs +12v to operate, so a coco1 only or any coco with a multipak.

Thanks for the answer. That is a good news indeed, I as afraid that board was some kind of prototype and would not work with a Coco.

Regarding to using it with a coco 2 and 3, do you think it is safe to inject 12V from an external source (PSU) ?
I t may require some soldering, of course...

The safest way to use that board with a Coco 2 and 3 is with a Multipak Interface. You might also have to upgrade the Disk Extended Basic ROM as well.

Upgrading ROMs in the controller is out of question, I don't intend to go that way.
