Trying to decide on next Apple II/III purchase

Hey guys,

I've been working on filling in holes in my Apple II/III collection. Recently I got an Apple III, which works great.

Right now there is a non-plus Apple II and an Apple III+. Of the two, which would be rarer these days and does anyone have any recent prices you've seen either sold for?

I'm also starting to get into clones a little bit and was wondering if there are any particularly desirable Apple II clones among the many out there that people try to collect.
 
Franklin made really cool II clones. The ACE 2100 to the untrained looks like a desktop system.

That is way cool. Okay, eyes peeled. I know Apple and Franklin in particular had a few tussles back in the day.

I just picked up a 'Linden Series One' on ebay for $69 -- anyone ever heard of that? I *know* I've heard of that manufacturer before, but I cannot find it anywhere on google.
 
drop me a note if you really want a franklin 2k or 500 (I have a few.)
I generally look for clones that are not direct copies. Late production Asian clones more interesting as they tend to have common interfaces integrated onto the motherboard (VideoTerm, Disk II, Z80, etc.)

As far as rarity, you mean a real Apple II (not plus not enhanced or /e?) That's rare and expensive although I think the hard core collectors want the earlier motherboards but an original II is very hard to find and although I don't see that many III or III+'s sell they don't sell for a tremendous amount unlike the original II or even IIplus.

For clones the Bell & Howell Apple II is fairly desirable although I'm not sure that it's a clone but more a rebadged system. Some call it a (Darth) Vader case. They had a Laser 128 which was a pretty nice clone of the Apple IIc.

I have the B&H II+ -- got that for $130 I think a couple of years ago. For some bizarre reason it attracted almost no interest on ebay (it's missing a key.. wish I could find a replacement). So I've got that. Not the black Disk II drives though.

I think my fear with buying an original Apple II is how to verify its original and unmodified. But if I can land one.. and the III plus.. the only one I'm missing is a IIc+ and a GS (for some reason I never bothered to get one) and that's as complete as it gets I guess without winning the lottery and finding an Apple I for sale somewhere.
 
My Apple II collection is quite close to complete as well, the only models I am missing, are an original II, NON-enhanced //e, and //e platinum. I have an original II on the way to me right now, while not a terribly low serial number (A2S1-17254), and not even sure if its matching serial numbers on board, I don't care, it still helps round out my collection ;-)

Never really had the urge to collect any clones, though I was fond of the Laser 128's when I was younger, I always thought that's what the //c should have been (I had a //c growing up).
