We also require that you select a delivery option before posting your listing. This will hopefully help us streamline the things that get listed for sales here and help local people better advertise their items, especially for local only sales. New sales rules are also coming, so stay tuned.

*sigh*
I'm probably asking for a miracle but I'm seeking a 7935, preferrably with the HP-IB interface but I'll work with anything.

I can remember only one of these coming up on eBay in the last ten years. If you found one, it would have to be shipped freight.

Weight - 340 lbs.
Heat dissipation - 1400 watts

Depends. technically HP-IB enabled devices can support Mass Storage devices as an option. Just cross your fingers that between the two development teams the term "mass storage" was the the same. ;)

You do know that there are many, many other HP-IB storage devices that are both smaller and easier to ship, as well as easier to find and less expensive to buy? Also, there's HP-IB storage, and there's HP-IB storage. This drive uses the CS/80 command set, which makes it _more_ likely to work than _less_, but it's still no guarantee.

Don't forget that a Commodore IEEE-488 drive won't "just work" on ANY HP. And vice-versa.

I've never trusted Commodore's IEEE-488 standard adhesion. Hell, even their idea of a serial port is a bit skewed.

I drove to Santa Rosa for a Minitel. Didn't I tell you once before that it's unhealthy to ask WHY I do such irrational adventures? If I was thinking straight I would stick with my 9121. ;)

Well, call them up and see if they'll strap it to a pallet. Then set up shipping through FreightQuote. I don't know if crossing a border will be a problem. Know anybody in northwest US who could receive it and sit on it for a while? (if I remember right that you're in Canada)

Ok, back in front of a real keyboard now.

For reference, I recently had a pallet of four RL02 drives shipped by truck freight from New York to southern California. It cost about $500. It's annoying when the shipping costs more than the purchase price of the item, but it's not that uncommon in this weird hobby of ours!
