CFFA 3000 on eBay

They are expensive because sellers are playing on the fact that there "might not be more made" (aka, marketing to suckers). The card is a successful product, its had multiple runs and likely will see future production again. Once pre-orders start on another batch, those crazy prices will vanish. It happened the last time a run of cards sold out too.

When I sold mine a while ago, I set the price at what I paid Rich Dreher for it (I believe that was $175?).
There was a small amount of bidding up, but in the end it sold for $187 and change.

The card listed at $149.95 plus shipping ($5 in my case).

Thanks for that info. I was not recalling correctly.

So, I would have listed it at $150 and it was bid up a bit by the folks who were interested in it to $187 and change.

EDIT: Or, if I am now recalling correctly, I had also included the $20 remote control switch. That would mean I listed it at $170 and it was bid up a bit from there.

A good indication of shill bidding. eBay does nothing about
obvious cases. You have one bidder that only bits on two sellers
items and the two sellers live at the same address. They often
back out at the last minute. The maximum bid has been exposed.
After the sale is over, if they buy the item, they offer the item
as a second chance.
eBay seems to allow this to continue, especially with sellers that
sell a lot of stuff.
