Rockwell KIM-1

I don't know if Rockwell actually made them or not, but I seem to recall seeing actual Rockwell branded KIM-1s before.

I have one just like this without the Rockwell sticker. Mine is a Rev E (this auction is a Rev F) but also has Commodore/MOS on it so Commodore owned them at Rev E (at least). Maybe Rockwell resold them before or during the AIM-65 because it was a similar market?

Didn't Rockwell (Allen Bradley) own MOS before it was acquired by the men who sold it to Commodore.
So they must have made the Kim-1 at some point.
I don't think Rockwell owned Allen-Bradley yet at that point. IIRC, that didn't happen for another 20 years.

My best guess is that they resold them before they started selling their own 6502. Even that board has a MOS 6502 on it.

That eBay seller always has lots of interesting stuff, always with Buy It Now (never "or best offer"), at about 160% - 200% of the price that I would buy it for. They're on my watched sellers list but I never bought anything from them because they're so expensive :)

Nevertheless, that's a nice looking Rockwell KIM-1. I'm pretty sure it's legit, I've seen them before. Rockwell had a license to produce the 6502, they must have also had a license to sell the KIM-1. Notice it has a Rockwell 6502 (the logo on the chip is pretty obvious), only the 6530s are MOS (makes sense, they owned the IP and 6530s were probably never made anywhere else). And I love the red resistors and the green PCB :)
