The Vault - Synchronet BBS

I've been toying around with the idea of setting up a telnet accessible BBS, to provide a place to find and share software for these machines we all love to play with. Having run one myself in the 90's, it seemed like a fun and logical alternative to the constant google searching and dead-link frustrations involved in finding a bit of software. Things certainly have a way of getting lost to time on the web.

There's not much to see here yet, still getting set up, but if anyone's interested in having a look and testing some things out feel free!

Over the years, I've been thinking about getting my old board back up and running via Telnet. It's always time that's my enemy though.

Time is definately always a problem, i'm sure it'll take me awhile to get everything looking proper. I've already had some issues with kiddies port scanning the machine, the BBS has been moved to thevault.synchro.net at port 999 for the time being.

Anyone have useful suggestions on tightening up security for these things?
