Any of you know that there is a allowable amount of rat fecies in your wheat, which is in cereal.I think it is for every 8 ounces of wheat there is a maximum of 8 miligrams of rat fecies allowed in it.When I tell you you shredded wheat is shredded sh*t you response shouldn't be "well how much?".Ever tasted a rasian in you cereal and it doesn't taste like a rasian, Its because its not a rasian. For you people who dont know what rat fecies is its rat sh*t.

Next one i thought was wierd, in your peas or something like that there is a limit to how much larva can be in it.YOU retards saying "Oh snap we gotta eat the stuff that comes out of valcanoes" get a dictionary. You are pretty much eating bugs. Now think about that when eating breakfeast.

Organ meat is kewl with me, I don't mind a little kidney or tripe now & then...it's da rat sh!t & roach legs that I object to. (I thought people of your faith are not allowed to touch 'unclean' meats like pork anyways?)...

I don't think we can eat organ meat, I don't know, I haven't looked into it. All I'm sure of is Pork & blood. (some cultures include blood in things like salsa & alcoholic drinks) Plus, there's been some debate over shellfish if I remember correctly.

BTW, up until probably 30 years ago, I believe they included a preservative in hot dogs that could prove toxic over long periods of time. (as in constantly eating foods w/ it)

Ah, the ol' nitrate/nitrites problem: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nitrite. I believe that carcinogens are still being used, but thier use is severely restricted these days. Like George Carlin used to say, the gov'ts job is not to prevent bad stuff from getting into our food, they just set limits to make sure that too much bad stuff doesn't end up there.

Anything that is mass produced in large factories will end up having something fly into it and die there. Having said that I don't think I ever seen a "raisin" in any cereal I ever had. Either the processing crunches up anything that is not supposed to be there into atomic particles or they do one hell of a job keeping the cockroaches and rats out of the materials.

You know cooking a burger on the grill will end up with a mosquito or fly in it once in a while.

I work in a poultry further processing plant. That means that it's not a kill plant, we get wings and deboned meat from one of our own kill plants or sometimes from outside sources.

Cleanliness is a big concern since a lawsuit over product contamination can really hurt a company. The on-site USDA inspector goes through a daily pre-op inspection and the QA department performs daily microbe tests. The production area temperature is kept below 50F with an average temp of 45F. It's been colder, I've seen ice form on the floor and equipment. The cold temp and the weekly visit by an exterminator tends to discourage the vermin.

Of course, even with all those precautions you can't be everywhere and watch everything at once. However, I have no reservations at all about eating any product the plant produces. I especially like the breaded chicken tenders (strips) and the popcorn chicken.

Mmmm...I love kidneys, Spam and Corned beef! :)

What was that scare about within the last year in the UK...some carcinogenic or toxic food preservative had got into some food products (I think it was ketchup and ready meals especially) and there was this big hoohah.

Then there was the outbreak of salmonella in the Cadbury chocolate factory in the UK, 250 tons of chocolate buried!

Popcorn chicken? Is that small pellets of chicken meat which will expand with a loud "pop" when you boil them? :)

:)

You're close. It's small pieces of breaded chicken meat that's deep fried. Eat it like popcorn, too small to dip in sauce.

I do realize that meat and poultry plants are necessarily different from other food processing plants due to the threat of bacteria. I've seen video of other plants on Discovery, History Channel and Food Network that have equipment that wouldn't be allowed in a meat plant. Painted mild steel is a no-no, everything must be stainless steel or plastic.

Just food for thought does anyone check what is in mexican food?GREAT and AUTHENTIC mexican food always gives you diahrea.I really dont care what is in the burrito since it gives you so much toilet time anyways. It just gets rid of it anyways.Ive seen flies in the burrito and then the guy ate it.Tell the story I did to anyone who is eating cereal, its funny to watch them spit it out and gag on there shredded wheats.

I used to see small flea-sized bugs in my Corn Flakes alot back when I was in elementary school. I ate it anyways... I don't know what's up w/ me now, but I think I'm lactose intolerant, if it's even possible to develop it further on in one's life. I wouldn't know, I haven't punched it into wiki yet...

Oh jeez, please. Ok if I remember right, eggs, were bad for us, then good for us, then bad for us. If I were to go and worry about every little thing that I eat or can happen to me, I'd never go out of the house, or eat again. Like a friend of mine once told me, we're all gonna die anyway, some of us sooner than others.

Ya. but I rather die tommorow think about it.when tommoorow comes its today and then you wait for tommorow again and again and again.....

Yeah, true. But, should we really go around worrying about all this stuff or just sit back and enjoy life for what we make of it? Don't get me wrong, I worry about stuff, bills, kids, etc.., but other stuff like how much rat poo is in my bowl of shredded wheat isn't on the high priority list.

There is a big difference between getting sick from bacteria and getting toilet time because your food was too spicy then what you normally eat.

I think most things in moderation are not bad for you. Studies will allways show that if you eat too much of any one thing its bad for you. Sooner or later somebody will figure out caged labrats gets cancer when you stuff them too full of any one thing and all out data will be useless.

As long as the rats don't carry diseases or get toxins in their food, I suppose a fraction of their waste isn't lethal, although certainly unpleasant to think about. No idea about the maggots in peas and other vegetables. I suppose both the amount and the allowed quota varies over the world. If the vegetables get genetically modified so the maggots don't feel welcome or even survive, that problem will phase out on behalf of the possible risks introduced by GMO. Which option do you fear most, to rarely find a small worm in your food or to eat something that is pure but was "invented" two years ago and not yet extensively tested?

And a lot of people eat while using their computer keyboard. Licking your fingers after that is worse than licking a toilit seat.

Its these standards that try to maintain a balance between safety and price. You don't want hamburger to cost as much as a drug.

You think that the people who work in vineyard's walk all the way back to pee? Wanna drink some wine? :)
