The official specs of the power supply is this: +5V 2.5A, -5V 0.25A, +12V 1.5A and -12V 0.25A
And it adds up to about 35 watts. But, that seems awfully high. Has anyone ever measured the power draw at the outlet?

Keep in mind that if you draw 35 watts on the load side of the power supply, that's profligacy at least 70W on the line side.

But I doubt you'll ever approach those kind of numbers.

If you really want to know, it's probably best to just measure it.

I had to track down where I put my power monitor.

I plugged an Apple //e (PAL) mainboard into an Apple //e power supply (AA-11042C 240v) with no keyboard or peripheral cards.

The switch on surge is shade over 17W and the board running self test diagnostics draws 15.7W on the mains.
The power supply I tested with has only had a couple of hours usage since I recapped it. A supply that hasn't been refurbished may be less efficient.

I don't have a lab supply that supports multiple concurrent voltages so I have no easy way to measure the current draw on the DC side of the supply. If anyone is able to measure that please post it here.
