VCF Southeast - April 29-30

Just a friendly traffic reminder: For anyone trying to go through downtown Atlanta, I-85 is sort of.... gone. :D

Vintage Computer Festival Southeast is April 29-30 featuring former Apple Macintosh exec Andy Hertzfeld and former Tandy exec Don French. I'll be there on behalf of VC Federation, and you should be there too! The event is produced by our good friends at the Atlanta Historical Computing Society.

I know you don't like announcing it earlier but these days, now Donald is in charge any one coming from outside the USA needs at least three months to clean any laptops they are brining, fill in the new visa forms and, if flying United make sure you have enough time to re-book when they throw you off the plane...

That's actually a good point for anyone travelling. It should not affect anyone's direct route if you are coming from the north side of town - other than increased traffic on I-285 (loop bypass). However if you are coming from the south side of town, DO NOT take the 'downtown connector' which is the merge of I-75 and I-85 through the middle of the city. A section of elevated I-85 has collapsed between the 17th street connector split and GA-400 (route to VCF-SE).

Easiest rule: when you get to the I-285 perimeter loop, TAKE IT! Bypass going through downtown.

Also if you are arriving or just passing through Atlanta from 7am-10am or 3pm-7pm weekdays, be prepared for delays in the hours. Atlanta is the 3rd worst traffic city in US, 9th in the world when I-85 isn't collapsed!
