Hi there, I'm new to this forum, so please excuse me if I've posted in the wrong place. Firstly I should explain my interest in very old DR-DOS versions. I like to help out on the Dosemu2 project (https://github.com/stsp/dosemu2) which is essentially a fork of the original development that has stalled. My particular interest is in getting old versions of DOS to boot on it. There are certain challenges getting the Linux filesystem to present itself as a valid bootable disk to each DOS version. I have it working on the DR-DOS 3.4x versions I grabbed from Winworld, but I'd like to test now with 3.31, or any other version up to 3.35. I found a mention of a drdos331.zip file in various places on the web and here in thread http://www.vcfed.org/forum/showthread.php?56332-My-286-clone-build, but it reportedly contains invalid files due to mistakenly being uploaded in ascii mode to an FTP server. My attempt to boot with them fails, which could be Dosemu2, or the files. Can anyone here point me to a non corrupt version of DR-DOS 3.3x?

Many thanks

I have what you are looking for. Bootable 360k floppies for Dr dos 3.31, 3.32, 3.33, 3.34 and 3.35 (french) Unfortunately I have them in storage at my parent's house so I cannot upload them now. I'll upload them ASAP

NOTE: I have only system files not complete distribution

Thanks, that would be great! System files are enough for the immediate test, though 'format.com', 'sys.com', and 'fdisk.com' would be a real bonus if available?
Thanks again.

I think I already replied to this, but since I'm a new user my posts go through moderation, it hasn't appeared yet. Just in case this it the first one you see, thanks for your kind offer. The basic system files themselves would be most gratefully received, though if you have 'fdisk', 'format', and 'sys' programs that would be even better.

Many thanks again

Hi there,
Interestingly Dosemu2 boots fine with each of the five sets of system files, albeit with read-only virtual disks at the moment. Strangely, it seems to me at least, the BDOS version as returned by int21/44/52 is 0x60 in all cases. I had expected it to be somewhere in between 0x60 and 0x63, as per this table.

I guess that means versions 3.3x have the same kernel as the DOS Plus variants. I saw a similar thing with their v6.00 WFW Mar 1993 update which has the same kernel as v7.00.

Thanks again.

Just as a follow up to my last post, this https://www.revolvy.com/topic/DR-DOS&item_type=topic confirms the bdos versions of drdos 3.3x as those I found when testing your images.
The salient part is this:
Known versions are DR DOS
3.31 (BDOS 6.0, 1988-06, OEM only),
3.32 (BDOS 6.0, 1988-08-17, OEM only),
3.33 (BDOS 6.0, 1988-09-01, OEM only),
3.34 (BDOS 6.0, OEM only),
3.35 (BDOS 6.0, 1988-10-21, OEM only),
3.40 (BDOS 6.0, 1989-01-25),
3.41 (BDOS 6.3, 1989-06, OEM and retail).

Thanks
