I couldn't find the other thread that I first posted my machine pics in so I started a new one. There seem to be no other threads in the General Discussions section. Hmm.

The IBM is a 5170, I think I named it a 5160 in that other thread, and it has some interesting hardware! A 4-port serial card, Everex tape drive of some kind and modem. It looks like it used to be used as some kind of server, so it may again be a server.

That odd_286 was part of a radio club, so if the hdd checks out(full bay!) I bet it has some kind of packet radio stuff on it, or maybe just word processing stuff. Might not be very rare, but it sure is interesting to me. The od 286 has a dual video output for either a 9-pin or VGA monitor. Neat stuff.

Those laptops I've had a long time. I used that SX20 for over a year to get online from the hospital that I used to work at. Until I got my Toshiba, heh heh. It's seen better days. The Lite needs a new cmos battery(that's what the wires hanging out are for, replacing it but I plan on just taking them out and get a real battery), has win3.11 and a think a 300mb hdd.

I can't wait to fire these bad boys up!

Yea, with the whole thread thing, a moderator needs to go back and reset the threads, because I'm not going to do it manually forever.
Any way, your IIc is in good shape. Nice photos.

I've been holding onto it, though that's the only part I have. I need a ps, monitor and whatever else to get it operational. I've never had a chance to even turn it on and can't seem to find any parts for it. I think I got one offer for a PS but then I still need a monitor, so I passed.

I've got a couple of Everex tape drives my self. Most of the equipment we use at home is 386/486 Everex hardware. I thought their machines were really neat because of the little dot matrix display on the front that shows the current drive letter and sector. Just watching that update is almost as much fun as "das blinkin lites" on the the old stuff...

Additionally, you can program the display to say anything you want. The disk information is just the default.

That two-headed video card you mentioned; that isn't per chance a VGA Wonder card? A couple of the Everex machines have those, so we could use a monochrome or VGA monitor. Can't use both at the same time, unfortunately. That would have been a great feature for the OS/2 boxes...

btw, Everex also made an external (almost SCSI but not compatible) tape drive that was sooooooo much more reliable than the internal modules, which are just (mostly) remarked Colorado tapes.

I'll check and see if it's a Wonder. This machine might have been another clone closely related to Everex, though it isn't an Everex itself. Life is really busy for me, so I haven't had many chances to set up rigs. Limited on workspace so I have to pick and choose and repack them up when I get done. Soon I'll have the shed up so I can have a decent workspace.

Though it's a really neat thing, I'm much more interested in the IBM and that AT/XT/somethingelse machine that I picked up. The somethingelse with the ST251 in it.

AH! Not enough hours in the day!

I used to love that scrolling LED display on my ol Everex EISA 486. My friends used to stop by nearly every day just to see what st00pit sh!t I put on it.

BTW, I'd love to have one again. Got any extra ones to sell or swap?
