I recently came into possession of a Sperry HT (XT) PC.
There are 8 sets of dip switches at the rear of the PC and then two more sets on the motherboard (over and above some jumpers as well).
Attached a picture of the PC:

Does anybody perhaps have a manual or information on what each of these DIP switches do?

Nice haul, especially since you got the monitor. I obtained the equivalent Leading Edge model M with tne scary horror color monitor years ago. That monitor was the ultra ultra low quality CGA equivalent (the case was identical that is) of the Tandy CM-1. I believe I have the complete manual set, but it's very disorganized in a sack. It'll take some time to dig it out. Dom't be shy about reminding me. The Sams Photofact tech packet is on ebay right now I think. For your Sperry that is.

Thank you for that - will appreciate it.
I found the motherboard settings for the Leading Edge Model M (MP-1676L) over here: http://arvutimuuseum.ee/th99/m/I-L/30486.htm
However, I would still appreciate perhaps pics or scanned images of the relevant sections of the manual that describes the various switches & jumper settings.

My father recently gave me his first PC and it is also Sperry PC XT Model 3070-02. I have looked at the motherboard (see attachment) and the jumpers, switches and CPU/NPU locations don't match with the Leading Edge Model M. Could anyone please point me in the right direction as I am hoping to restore this computer.

I have managed to at least make it display an error code E-TD10 followed by TOD ERROR as shown on the attachment.

Are you guys still looking for dcumentation? I have the same computer Model 3070-02 and a full set of manuals, so let me know if anything is needed. Of course it is all paper but I will try and scan a few required pages if you let me know.

Also, I am looking for a keyboard for this computer (lost the original one). Every keyboard I have tried I get the - .... . set of beeps indicating missing keyboard. Does anyone know what keyboard I would need? The keyboard socket takes a 5 pin DIN plug (fatter than the 6 pin used with IBM PC/AT), but the one I have with a 5 pin DIN does not work. It seems there are 2 IBM 5 pin DIN plug keyboards (PC Type 1 and XT Type 2) [see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IBM_PC_keyboard ]. There is also a Model F (PC/XT) which might be same as Type 2? Or did Sperry use a completely different type?

The specific keyboard I am trying is an Elite KB-5181 with a 5 pin DIN plug. Does anyone know much about it, is there a way to make it work with the Sperry PC?

Of course maybe there is an internal fault causing it to not recognize the keyboard, so I will have to open it up and check.

Any advice is much appreciated!

Sorry, I meant to say 6 pin connector used with IBM PS/2. The AT used the same 5 pin connector as the XT but I believe with a different protocol.

Also, I've done some checking, seems like the Elite KB-5181 is really a Chicony KB-5181. It is supposed to have a switch to select between AT and XT protocol, but some versions don't have that switch and of course mine doesn't. So, would anyone know how to still convert it to XT protocol?

Hello, I am looking for documentation as well. I have just (at the VCF East Swap meet) acquired a Sperry 3070-09 and would like to know 1) what the differences are to the apparently much more common 3070-02. 2) how to hook a keyboard up.. and 3) if anyone has any documentation for the board, i.e. schematics, jumper settings, etc.

Apparently, this is the same as another type of computer, just a Mitsubishi System Board and peripherals with rebranding.

I also lack a CGA monitor, so I'm using the composite jack but I get a weird signal, so I might need to be doing something different.

Any info would be appreciated!

Yes, it has a hard disk. It's a half height one. Not sure of model because it's under the FDD.

Thanks!

the unit take a standard IBM keyboard, or equivalent. The LE came with a Keytronic 5151, which was a popular model F? clone back when.

Those floppy drives are Mitsubishis, and are non standard afaik. They are the double density cousins of the Tandy 2000s quad density drives.

The color monitor at least was a low (make that very low) resolution cousin of the Tandy CM-1. Both made by Mitsubishi.
