Hi folks,

I think I'm looking in the abyss here given the amount of info around on these monitors, and it looks like I might be only 1 of 2 people in the UK with one, but I refuse to believe that Sanyo produced a CGA monitor JUST for the optional CGA graphics option on the MBC555.

It was working last night while I was failing to get CGA graphics running because I didn't have the CGA-enabled DOS disks, when I say 'working' I mean I could ramp the brightness up to get a raster. Now the brightness controls do nothing so I suspect either the flyback transformer (which has a cracked casing) or some of the circuitry that feeds it but without a schematic I'm stuffed.

The board itself has 'E95271' on it but google turns up nothing, neither does image searching for a monitor that LOOKS similar.

Has anyone seen or worked on one of these before?

The crt-70 was a colour monitor designed to work with the built in colour video of the sanyo mbc 550. has a 8 pin din.

main display 640x200 x 8 colours.

I think the crt-50 was also colour for this system but I never seen one.

here is the pinout on the north american version. You might have a different connector.

I have a nice sanyo mbc 550 here without such a monitor if you ever want to throw it out.
