I've been getting my dad's old 5150 up and running again, only to realize that alas! It's a 5151/MDA setup! So, since I didn't want to try and find a 5153 AND a CGA card, I decided that I would check on here, and see if anyone would be willing to sell or trade one. I have a Sound Blaster 32 that I don't intend to use any time soon, so I would be willing to trade that. PM me if interested.

CRT Monitors generally don't ship well, particularly if they're the old ones (plastic gets very brittle). You're best off finding one close to you, if possible (you didn't give your location).

Alternatively, you can use an ISA VGA card (many 16 bit cards will run fine in an 8 bit slot) and use a modern VGA LCD monitor.

I'm not sure I understand what is wanted here. Do you have a monochrome CRT now, and just need a card to drive it, or are you needing both card and monitor?

I have a 5151 for my IBM, but it's only got MDA, so no graphics modes. I have the monitor, but MDA's not going to work if I want to play games outside of text adventures.

That's what I thought, PM me if you'd be interested in an ATI EGA Wonder/Graphics Solution. It can emulate cga on a 5151 and do much more

Something like that is often your best bet for maximum compatibility. I've got a Video Seven VEGA board in my XT that does VGA, EGA, and CGA/MDA emulation. Very handy!

The 5151 is a nice monochrome display, very high persistence. That will be...interesting...with any games that are motion-based.
