I finally figured out how to set up a web server using Mac OS X Server and get Roundcube working for e-mail. Can you believe it? I have my own domain name, hosted using my own server and im doing my own email that I set up. it took me a while to get SQL up and running but the motivation to learn how was there inside me the hole time. I know for some of you this may seem trivial but i just have this inner feeling of Pride and I cannot stop smiling right now. I showed my fellow technicians this at work and They were all impressed and surprized i could do it. Not bad for a hardware guy huh? I know most of my posting in off topic tends to be negative or self centered and most of the time i feel frustrated about work but I am so happy right now. I'll be happier when i get myself a decked out SE/30 but right now i am soooo freakin proud of myself this is like a huge accomplish ment for me. Im not going to give out the domain name because I don't feel i have properly secured everything with proper passwords yet, security is a work in progress for me right now and as this is the main server for like my hole house and plex and everything i wouldnt want some bot crawling the forums to pickup my domain and send half of hackers in the world to hammer my small 150MB pipe. anyways just letting yall no that good things dew happen to me haha like bye yall!

Congratulations. Off-topic but I have a boxed copy of Mac OS X 10.5.6 Server if you (or anyone else) for that matter was interested.

Well done. It's an intricate business and I can understand your sense of accomplishment.

If it's on a public IP, it's probably already being scanned. Bulk scanning of the entire IPv4 range is one of those things that's actually not that hard nowadays.
