Among the various Tandy Business machines, various terminals, a TI KSR are a lot of boxes of "stuff".

I never know what I'm going to find down there when I'm looking for something and, in most cases, I have no idea where it came from.

For instance, the other day, when I was looking for that ST4051 servo logic board for someone's ST4038, I believe, I found a small box and figured I'd look inside. What I found was 1 - Citizen Y-8300 side in parallel port module for a 120D, 4 - Bondwell BW-8 "Turbo Hard Drive Controller (ver 1.3) (they aren't ISA cards but boards, like you'd find in an external hard drive unit), 5 - DTC 5180CRH 16 bit ISA cards for MFM drive and 6 Oak Tech 16-bit ISA video cards (5 OTI037 and 1 OTI067).

I have boxes of GBIP stuff down there and stuff that I don't recognise at all.

I think the computer junk fairies dump stuff in my basement at night LOL

Sounds like my basement; I'll definitely have to visit you soon to compare notes.

That's one thing I've found too: there was a time when I could tell you exactly what everything is, where it came from and when, etc., but with the advancing years it happens more and more that I look at something that I've doubtlessly had for years but would swear that I've never seen before and, if it weren't so ludicrous, that someone snuck it in there when I was asleep.

Then again, maybe it isn't so ludicrous... you haven't been sneaking into my basement by any chance?

Did you ever find that ST4051 PCB for our friend in PA BTW?

Somewhere in the bottom of a box, you've got a wormhole generator. Do you notice the lights dim sometimes? And is there an increase in the concentration of strange stuff at any point in your basement?
I've got one in the bottom of my toolbox, but it works the other way!

I think your tools are coming to me, they just seem to appear out of nowhere...that said, I could use a new allen wrench set, if you're going out...

I seem to have a small bi-directional one somewhere around my body that follows me wherever I go. Every time I disassemble something and reassemble it, I always seem to end up with extra screws, parts, etc, that don't belong anywhere, or else find I don't have enough screws, parts, etc.

You need to start listening to all-night radio; the explanation for all this is simple:
alternate universes! Every time you're missing a part, someone in another universe has one too many, and vice versa.

I wonder if this forum is a conduit; anybody out there find a remote for a Sony TV recently that they don't know where it came from?

No, I got one for a Sony VCR from the 80s I believe if anyones went missing...I dunno where the darn thing came from!

No and yes. It's on his way to him as we speak, haven't heard that he got it yet though.

No, no worms. I thought the lights would dim every once in a while, but, it turns out to just be my eyesight :)
The stuff seems to be pretty evenly distributed too.

well found a worm hole in my basement to bad it spits out random junk seems to have a liking for bolts nuts and Christmas decorations oh and thousands of dead batteries.

Hmm, I think I have an infestation of these little guys, it probably explains my seemingly simultaneously dwindling supply of ISA video cards, acid wash jeans, and boxer shorts at exactly the same time...and sometimes I find I have more of a particular part, usually one I already have quite a few of, like PCI Ethernet adapters, or those 5.25" to 3.5" drive bay adapters.

I also sometimes have the strange appearance or dissappearance of data on stowed away hard drives from time to time, usually the former. Nothing like finding another pre-formatted MS-DOS 6.22 hard drive with a fresh install of WFWG 3.11 that I did not know I had on....errr....wait.... (looks at WordPerfect 6) I don't recall ever managing a baseball team.

See my post in the wanted section. My basement seems to misplace the last piece I need to get something working. I know I had a keyboard for that Mac at one time. Now, no where to be found.

Last time it was the install media for XP (I know OT) for some Gateway computers I rescued. They materialized at work some how. I looked. The keyboard is not here.

In looking for the keyboard I found entire computers that I just don't recognize. Who in any state of mind needs that many pentium computers!

Go figure,
Kelly

Oooh, does _that_ sound familiar; I'm so relieved that I'm not alone...

And oddly enough (referring to a previous post) I too seem to find a surprising number of PCI Ethernet cards and 5.25<>3.5 HD adapters appearing in odd places recently; d'ya suppose there's some cosmic significance to that?

BTW, your Mac KB just appeared on the lawn of the house across the street a couple of days ago, but it's gone now; must have moved on to yet another alternate universe.

“Eddies,” said Ford, “in the space-time continuum.”

“Ah,” nodded Arthur, “is he? Is he?”

Well, it happened again.

I found 6 boxes of untested ISA and VLB cards (a couple of hundred) down there that I don't recall ever seeing before........ (humms theme from Twilight Zone).
